Product Description 

The ID Watchdog® service offers three tiered approach to identity theft protection through monitoring, detection and resolution.  The monitoring is done through the use of monitoring thousands of databases where public information is traded online.  The detection is done through the ID Snapshot™ service which creates a thorough report of your personal information and then is used to check for use of any of this information online by an imposter.  If evidence of identity theft is found, the company uses the service, ID Rehab™ to help clear up your name.  They speak with companies on your behalf and file all necessary paperwork to resolve the issue. 

This product was formed through the help of national consumer advocacy groups, the US Postal Service, federal state and local law enforcement agencies, and state and local Attorney Generals.  Its focus is on finding and detecting the problem as soon as possible to reduce the impact.

ID Watchdog® offers an interesting alternative to other identity theft protection services.  Their extra emphasis on looking at a larger amount of private information and to search thousands of online databases makes it an interesting alternative that all customers should consider.  In fact, I believe the best identity theft protect may be a combination of their service with a more thorough service that focuses on credit reporting like Lifelock®.  For this reason, I recommend this service to consumers.
