Product Description

The ID Armor ™ protection plan offers three main services.  The first is simple identity protection.  This is accomplished by the company contacting the three credit bureaus and putting an alert on your account where the credit issuer must contact you first before anyone is able to open an account in your name.  Additionally, they request on your behalf for the credit bureaus to stop selling your personal information.  This will help reduce the amount of junk mail you receive and the number of undesired credit offers.  Finally, you will receive three credit reports each year from the three credit bureaus.  This will allow you to check them for any suspicious activity.

These services are also supported by a $1 million dollar insurance guarantee to fix your credit if identity theft occurs while using their services.  The service of the company is significantly cheaper than other companies.  This is possible because they eliminate some other services offered by other companies and rely only on services that can be computer operated allowing for automation and thus, lower cost.

Benefits

  • Cost of service is only $1.99 a month.  One size fits all service may be beneficial to some.  No cheaper service for kids though.
  • Streamlined service may be beneficial for customers who just want some basic credit protection.

Drawbacks

  • No protection for personal information beyond credit information.
  • Yearly credit reports may not be sufficient for adequate monitoring of credit reports.  Other companies may offer quarterly, monthly or daily reviews of credit information.
  • Fail to monitor internet databases for the selling of any personal information.

Customer Comments

  • None found at this time.

Personal Review

This no frills service will be appealing to some customers who want some protection and are trying to find the cheapest rate possible.  However, most customers will truly want more identity theft protection than this company provides.  The lack of protection beyond credit information and failure to monitor personal information selling databases is a major source of identity theft.  For these reasons, we recommend people look at other companies first because their costs are still under $100 for a year which is really very good.  Still, if you would like to learn more about this company’s service, you can visit their website at http://www.idarmor.com
