Product Description 

Debix ® service protection operates by creating a system in place where bank and credit institution personnel should contact you in the event that someone applies for credit in your name.  This services means you will receive a phone call where you can confirm this request or pinpoint it as a case of possible fraud.  This can all be done from your phone.  This service is called the Instant Authorization ™.    

Benefits 

• Low cost service of $24 per year for adults and $20 per year for children. 
• Proactive approach attempting to stop identity theft from occurring in the first place. 

Drawbacks 

• Not all banks and credit institutions use or support the Instant Authorization ™ service. 
• Puts emphasis on employees of banks and credit institutions to make a phone call to you.  Errors or oversight can occur in this type of setting and if this takes place, identity theft protection cannot take place. 
• Only provides credit reporting protection. 
• No monitoring of internet personal information databases that sell personal information. 
• Do not receive free credit reports to review any fraud that may slip through the cracks of their system.

Personal Review 

Debix ® provides an interesting service options that gets the banks to help with your identity theft protection from the very start.  This is an interesting approach that may catch on; however, I believe it is too early at this time to put too much faith in this type of service.  Other companies offer a more comprehensive service that is better suited to find the fraud fast that could still occur using this company’s service.  For this reason, I would recommend looking at other companies first.  Still, if you would like to visit the company’s website, here is a link to the site: www.debix.com.
